Volunteering in Our Community
There is no greater joy than working and giving back to our wonderful community. We have been especially blessed to donate and volunteer our services every year since 2003
to
families and organizations that need our help.
We reach out every Earth Day that falls on April 22nd of each year to donate designs, tools, and labor. This day is also known as "Day of Service" in the Landscape Industry. The commitment from the green industry is astonishing and makes us so proud to be a part of an industry that truly cares. Here are just a few of our stories.
Day of Service - A Garden of Hope
Colorado Vista Landscape Design donated a landscape design and action plan to convert 2700 square feet of dry soil into a beautiful community garden for the Food Bank for Larimer County for the ALCC's Earth Day, Day of Service project.
Calling it "A Garden of Hope," Heather Buoniconti of the Food Bank says the project fits right in with their mission. "The Food Bank regularly receives vegetables from producers in the local area, but this product will be special."
Day of Service - Community Garden
Donating the design and labor, we constructed a community garden for Care Housing where
single-parent families can spend time with each other and enjoy the therapeutic benefits of gardening.
Day of Service - Helping Others
All Day of Service projects are
special, but on April 22, 2014 there was something extraordinary that we were accomplishing. With tremendous respect we volunteered at the home of a retired PSD teacher who had suffered a stroke three years prior. He was an avid gardener, but had not been able to access his gardens until the day we completed our work and he walked down a new walkway with his beautiful wife.
Day of Service - High School Hang Out
What a wonderful Earth Day as we donated design and labor services to transform an uninviting courtyard at the Roosevelt High School into a fun space where students can gather, study or unwind with an outdoor game or two. It was an amazing day with our colleagues and such a pleasure to meet the most polite, hard-working, and wonderful students of this school.
Day of Service - April 22, 2016
"I was so thrilled when Bob Troutman and the school approached me to design this educational outdoor space to teach the students at Walt Clark Middle School the importance of butterflies and pollinators in our region."- Tanya Fisher, President of Colorado Vista Landscape Design
